That alone is still too much for a 2.5

thank you lexus.

also, what are your other water parameters? is there a filter running on the tank, how big are your weather loaches?

And i know you already said you were but pleassse get that new tank soon! a 2.5 is way way too small for the fish youve got, except the betta

Well what are your current set ups?
2.5- goldfish and pleco?
2.5 2 weather loaches, pleco and a gourami?

I would get rid of the plecos and goldfish. Common plecos need at least 55G if not more... even 55G is a stretch. Weather loaches, I'm not too familiar with. Goldfish, depending if it is a common or a fancy are going to need at least a 29G.

a 10G isnt going to hold much but its up to you. You can get fairly cheap starter kits at Walmart.

um the goldfish is like, puny. i don't know how long he's going to live. the 2 plecos are together in a tank. the two loaches are in with a betta. the goldfish is in with the gourami (ya, bad choice) a 70-100 gallon tank is what i've decided on. i would rather not get rid of my plecos, when they get really big, i'll probably have to, though =( unless i can get a bigger tank. even though the goldfish is puny, i'll make sure he gets a bigger tank, but he has worms, so i'm hesitant about spending the money.

Do when exactly are you going to get the 70-100G? Thats a pretty penny to set one of those up.

well...just curious...you say you have money for the tank, but the actual tank is only part of the cost. do you have money for a filter, heater, substrate, and all that other equipment?

Bettas require very warm water, but weather loaches suffer if they are kept permanently in warm water.
