Smile Glass catfish?

Hey, i'm not thinking about getting new fish anytime soon, but does anyone have a glass catfish? i was just wondering what kind of behavior they have. they are very unique, so i'm not sure anyone here has one, but if you do, i think some stories of experience would be cool.

well, if your going to get these guys, you should get a group of them. Here's a profile for them: http://www.aquatic-hobbyist.com/prof...sscatfish.html

you will want to put them in something bigger than a 10g though.

The look cool, especially when lit from behind because the light refracts into a kaleidoscopic display, but otherwise these fish just pretty much sit in one spot all day in their school, shimmying and shimmering. Overall, I like them.

DONT BUY THE PAINTED ONES if you get them. it wears down their immune system and makes them sensitive to disease. the color will fade over time too. i like the regular ones better anyway. i also like the ... indian glassfish is it? it slightly resembes a black skirt tetra i believe, but clear

Well I think what I see (looks like silver thingy) is the digestion system and the heart, maybe... you can also see the spine and the nerve thru the the rest of the body...
Just my guess

I think they're cool too, but when i went to the petstore looking at all the fish, they put the wrong fish label at the bottom og the tank, so it said it was this like, goldfish thing, so i was like "how cute!" then i looked inside, and i see like, 3 of these fish skeletons floating around, then i realized they were like, swimming, and they had little heads and everything. I was like freaking out then i was like "I wanna buy one!" but i didn't. I got a Mrs. Whiskers for Mr.Whiskers (they're both weather loaches, so i named them for obvious reasons =)

well they had like, goldfish in there before, then i guess they moved em and sold em all. so they put the glass catfish in there, without changing the label. mr. and mrs.whiskers are living with a betta right now. i'm about to get a 10 gallon for them. i'm gonna get it either today or tomorrow. and if they get too big. i'll have a 75-100 gallon tank for them =)

To your question about if you can see they're food Baby Baby, you can't. They sell a whole bunch of them where I live and I have a few Glassfish in my tank. Their stomach is a silver ball inside of them so you never get to actually see the food. You only see that and their spinal cord. Everything else you can just look right through to your background. I would suggest the Glassfish though cuz they are a little more active. Just my two cents.
