I have a pair of A. Cacutuoides. They pair has laid eggs 6 or 7 times now but the female keeps eating them within a day or two. I was wondering if it might be my water conditions. The parameters are as follows:
TDS 231ppm pH 7.99 GH 8 dh KH 6 dh Any advise or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! |

Behavior isn't usually related to water conditions. If the eggs weren't hatching or the fry dying, I might suspect the water. But this seems to be pretty common with apistos in the hobby. You could try leaving the light on for a few days, adding more hiding places and plants, or even taking her out and letting the male be a 'single parent'.
