cichlid book

i am looking for a cichlid book. im hoping to get one for both african and south american cichlids. i want it to contain things about sexing and breeding the cichlids. if anybody can give me a great book to get on cichlids i would really appreciate it.

you might want to try the aqualog books.they are about the best there is..very concise..outstanding photography...
you know how them germans are..all about quality..

Come to ACA 2008 for new and used cichlid books (multiple vendors + silent auctions + get your books signed by the authors). Its really the only place to actually see and touch a great selection of cichlid books before buying. I like the Dwarf cichlids:American Cichlids 1 by Staeck. For africans I like several books by Loiselle & Koenigs. I do like aqualog also. Most of my basic books are hopelessly out of date (and AWOL).

One other thought, I'm pretty sure the AAAA has a library members can borrow books from.

i am coming to the meeting but i was hoping to read up on ome more types of cichlids and get my tanks ready incase i bring more fish home.

Smart idea, its really hard to come to ACA and not bring home fish. The fulton county library only has one cichlid book.

i no i got rid on almost all my fish in my 55 gallon so ill have more room. and i got a 46 that is just set up and has room for some south americans. i hope they got a good selection of s. american.

Most Barnes & Nobles locations have quite a good selection of fish books. Most Borders locations don't.
