I just got a 10 gallon tank set up for my betta. He had been living in a 2.5 gallon heated tank for 1.5 years and i couldnt stand to see him so cooped up any more. I've always wanted to see how he is with other fish i so fished out 4 white cloud minnows from my 65 gallon tank.He chased them for a bit first but i guess there too fast for him so he just leaves them alone now. Am i able to keep them in there or is 10 gallons to small for white clouds??? I really want to keep them in there as it gives him some company and the white clouds were kind of bullied in the 65 gall tank and never really got any food as they are still babys they were always scared away by the bigger fish...

I agree with karazy. White clouds do better at cool temps, and bettas like temps in the 80s.

good thing there both hardy fish than as both my tanks have been kept at the same same temp of 24-26 / 76-78 for 2 years with no problems at all. i personally dont see any problem with the temperatures and my healthy fish prove it- the betta has lived in this for almost 2 years now with no problems...During a heat wave the tanks topped at 29-30 / 84-86 for 3 weeks and the white clouds were fine

Way ask then if you dont care what others think? They have voiced why they are againts it.Just cause its been like that for so long is not a reason why its ok.The fact still remains that they need diffrent temps.

Its happens... I work at a petstore, and people often ask you questions, when their mind is already decided. I give them an honest answer that doesnt reflect what they are thinking, and they kind of shrug it off. I just pretend to choke them and stuff when they are walking away
One guy felt that he could get away with a water change once every 4 months in his SW tank |

I agree with Kaisa's decision. They're her fish, after all.
Also, you all well know that Bettas and White Cloud Minnows are among the hardiest of fish available. They can live very comfortably in a broad range of temperatures, although they may prefer one end of the spectrum over the other. Kaisa's fish have obviously become comfortable in her tank, which is precisely in the middle of the two temperature ranges. Y'all are being mean. |

I don't really think we're being mean, she asked for advice and we gave her our opinions. Isn't that what a forum is for?
