It does, just without the gold (is that gold colour only for males or females, like cherry barbs?), but the markings are similar. Mouth is a bit different, almost loach like. It's probably some kind of barb.

Gold barbs generally have a line running along their side. I am leaning toward a female odessa barb. Link

It is definitely a barb.....and looks much like the pic Sea-Agg linked to. At first I was thinking Gold Barb (minus some markings) but after seeing that pic, it looks more like a fem. Odessa.

I am not sure anymore. I would say definately either a female odessa, or a gold barb. These pictures make me lean toward a gold barb. Link. Looking at more pictures of odessas, I think the females have more of a silver/grey color. They both have similar behaviors and similar water requirements, so it really doesn't make a difference what species they are. If you are looking to breed him.. they can live together, so you can keep some of each in a tank and see what happens lol...

PS. I agree with kristin, either way, it is missing a few marking. It may be worth checking your water, and optimizing the water conditions, it should bring out some more distinct coloration.

He or she has always looked like that, and is quite a survivor. Yes probably a golden barb, the funny mouth is likely some kind of defect/rot when it was young which healed. It's nice to have him in my tank.
