Default Unknown Fish

Anyone know what these two fish are? The two long fish with the black horizontal stripe? They are always moving around really fast and they like to search the sand for food.

i am not really good at recognizing fish but their appearance reminds me of neon tetras. As for the behaviour, i never had neon tetras...

I can't tell; they're too fast & fuzzy. My two best guesses are Ironcolor Shiner and Lowland Shiner.

Might even be yellowheads past spawning season. I'm assuming you caught these locally?

Yes I did. Thanks, they do look like the ironcolor shiners.

Cool. Ironcolors get an orange stripe on them like glowlight tetras when they spawn.

I live near you, so I see them around sometimes. Rare.

They colored up real nice last night. Would that mean they are males?
