Default Pearl Gourami

Hey guys,
A few weeks ago i bought 3 gouramis. After quarantining them for a week i tranfered them to their long term home inside my 55 gallon tank. After a water change, for some reason, one died the next morning. It smelled REALLY bad for some reason when i took it out. It had only been dead maybe a few hours. I've never had that happen before.

Anyways... i originally had 2 females and 1 male according to members of this site. I would like to keep that ratio. So i took some pictures of the remaining two and was wondering if you guys could help me with which sex i have remaining.

thanks

The last two pictures, top one is a male. Bottom one is a female. The first picture is a female. I can't tell about the second one, sorry.

What are your water stats in the 55 gallon? Does the tank itself or the water have an odor or just the fish? It looks like your tank is planted or partially planted. Do you have any algae in this tank, especially black?

The water smells fine. It was the fish that had a HUGE stench when i took it out of the water. I've never smelled a fish that smelt like that even if they've been dead for a day. It was really strange.

The tank is pretty planted. I wouldn't say extremely heavy. But it's more than partially planted. There is an occasional thing of algae. mostly a slight amount of brown algae on the glass. But only a slight amount. I previously had an outbreak of a thread like algae but it has since subsided as wel.

This fish was beyond fishy. It was a HUGE stench smelt from more than 2 feet away where my nose was.
