Default What are my options?

I've got 4 angelfish in my 55g and as some of you may know you have to remove the 2 angels that don't pair up and put them in a different tank. My plan was to give them to my friend who has a 29g with 4 long finned black widow tetras. But he hasn't been maintaining the tank like he should and he has lost a common plec that was in there because he doesn't do vacum cleanings often and I don't want to subject my angels to poor water condtions. So where else could I put the 2 angels? BTW my lps won't take them, all they will do is sit them on the counter then once you leave they throw them away.

Buy another tank. Or get a tank divider.

You can keep 3...just find somewhere for the one. Are there more than one LFS in your area? If so, call the others and see if they take fish you can't keep. Tell them the situation and that you don't want anything in return. Some people like to buy bigger angels, so there should be a store that takes them.
If you don't believe that they will keep them, tell them you want to watch them put it in a tank.
Tell your friend you will give him/her the angel if they will step up on their tank maintenance....a big angel is worth about $15-20 I think, so tell him what a deal he's getting. Tell him the plec gets too large and he should remove it, start cleaning better, and you'll give him the angel.

You could put an ad on craigslist or some other classified. If you're worried that they'll go to an irresponsible owner you can always ask them, before they even come to see the fish, how long they've had fish and what tank they plan to put them in. You can refuse anybody that isn't to your liking.

Do you have an aquarium club in your area? If you contact them they might know a few people that want them and then you'll know they're in good hands.

I don't have any more room for another tank. Like I said my friends common plec died most likely due to the bad water conditions.

Justonemore, thats a good idea. There is this one lps that may take them but I'll have to give them a call.
