Default Spot on Balloon

When I got my Balloon Molly 4 months ago she had a dark brown/black spot on the base of her tail. It never got bigger & over time it has almost faded away. (She's Orange & white) Now a dark spot has appeared on her side. It's about the size of 2 pinheads, quite dark but the area around it is not inflamed or irritated looking at all & is not perfectly round. The area is not raised at all either. She is acting normal & eating well. I keep thinking she will drop fry but if she has I've missed them. At times she looks rounder than other times, but not real significantly Any ideas on the spot? Sorry - can't get a pic.

There can be some slight color changes as a fish ages. If the fish looks and acts fine and you can honestly say you have kept up on the water changes with problems with the water quality. I would just keep a eye on him. If nothing changes it might just be some of the slight color changes related to aging.

Thanks Fish_doc, I was hoping that was what it is. I do 30% water changes/vac. every 5 - 7 days & scoop out a gallon or two in between. She's with 1 adult platy & babies.(no new additions) I've been watching for changes in the spot since it showed up a few days ago, but none so far. I'll keep a close eye on it.
