Feeding the bird one day, I got this great idea looking at the manzanita and ribbonwood perches. They would look great in fish tanks.
They come with a screw at one end... probably stainless steel, i'm guessing. But if you just stick the screw end into the substrate and arrange a few of these perches slanting into different directions amid a planted tank, they would look great... just a thought as I was looking for thinner branches for the aquarium... What do u think? |

I would pull the screw out. It will rust and could cause issues in such a small ecosystem. Other than that I dont think they treat them with any chemicals since they are used with other live animals.
BUT they may not be treated properly for aquariums. You may want to let them soak in a large bucket for a few days because they probably have not had all the tannins leached out of them like they would for the driftwood. Even then you would probably see your water yellow or brown fairly quick after adding it to the tank for quite a few water changes. If you have the right fish like neons or discus they would probably love it. |
