Default VERY happy fish,

hi, i am cycling my 48" x 15" x 18" tank and have a shoal of 10 neons, they must be the happiest neons i have ever seen lol,
i will post some pics ASAP

I wouldnt be surprised, actually. Neons are fragile fish. Dont be sad if you lose some in the cycle. If you insist on fish cycling, you really should either use hardy fish that can survive the toxic conditions, or bio-spira, which usually cycles the tank in a few days.

Thats why i put that up, neons are pretty fragile. id be suprised if you made it out with 2 or 3. ive always done fish cycles with fish like convicts or feeder gold fish, either way when the cycle is complete the fish will be used as feeders so no worry about long term effects of the damage from the cycle process.

But take heart J55, I did it with 23 a couple months ago and lost two.

EDIT: But I should stress it was by consistently testing the water and taking action when the levels were getting high.

well i have moved the tetras,and put in 6 black widow tetras, and 2 mollies

Your saying that you moved your neons from the tank your cycling, and added the skirt tetras and mollies in their place?
