Default German Rams

hey i have a 5" BGK and 3-3" Upside Down Catfish and a 2" Clown Pleco. I also have 5 cherry barbs in there. Now would i be able to add a german ram or two? The BGk is moving out of that tank in about 2 months when i buy another 80-100g.

Yes then is should be ok but Humpy I personally suggest Bolivian Rams they are much hardier unlike the German Blue and Gold Rams which are both sensitive to water parameters and meds.

but the german blue rams are so beautiful. I have plants in the tank and plan on heavily planting it. I also do weekly water tests and water changes between 10 and 25%

So do you say no with the bgk in there because the bgk is going to grow so much or because the bgk will harm the rams or because the bioload will be too much

Ok this is based on my opinion
1. To much waste which means a good size bio load
2. They are VERY sensitive
3. The BGK will eat them

oh bgk is very small right now 5" maybe, he will be moved before he gets too big, can't stay in a 33g for too long. He can't even eat the cherry barbs right now.
Dont plants help with the bioload?

I have to disagree. The rams should be fine, I've had multiple rams with a black ghost knife. Removeing the cherry barbs is not necessary once you have moved the bgk. I personally think that bgk's should be in a 210 gallon or larger when fully grown. They can attain a length of 20 inches easily.

In aquaria though it is rare that you see one over 15", and that combined with the fact that they hide most of the day, makes them an okay candidate for a 100 gallon tank. You can even ask on knifefish specialty boards if you want, you will get the same answer.
