in one of my 15 gallon tanks i had a male betta with a few platies.it had been going well with them untill recently the betta has become over aggressive. i went out and bought a devider.what i did when i came home was remove the betta and platies into a holding tank, took out all plants and decotations and inserted the divider.when i was doing this, i stired up the gravel a bit by accident and dirt came out of the gravel making the little bit of water i didn't remove cloudy.i just wanted to know if other people had experienced this or is my under my gravel really dirty?you can't see anything now(1 day later) and all the cloudyness has gone.is it just bacteria? i thought u couldn't see bacteria.any way as long as it doesnt affect my fish im not bothered what it is.my tank water is looking crystal clear and all my ammonia,nitrate,PH...are fine.could it be something to do with some live bloodworms that managed to escape into the gravel when i dropped them in the tank when i first started feeding live foods,(i now have one of those cup with holes in it for the live feeding to swim out of)?
thanks for any help you give,

That would be poop, leftover food, etc. That's why gravel vacuuming is vital, to remove all of that stuff.

It falls through the gravel... as it decays it gets smaller and smaller thereby falling through the tiny cracks between the gravel. When you gravel vac properly yes vacuuming will get some of it (unless you have sand or live plants just stick the vacuum down in the gravel - the gravel is too heavy to be sucked out but it gets moved around dislodging the goop)
