Default Tank not good for fish?

I recently got a 54 gallon tank, but some of the top (frame) is broken, it doesn't RIGHT NOW seem to cause a problem. It's empty. I want to trade it in, but firstly I want to check if I, can ever take/use it.

Left top corner

Middle support, on one side is cracked all the way down the black too.

She used the tank for frogs, so it doesn't surprise me that this wasn't a big deal to her.
Lemme know, thanks!

you could probably use it the center is not cracked across so it will still keep it from bowing but i would replace the frame you can find them on the net just google aquarium frames or replacement parts there out there and not expensive or hard to replace

I have a tank that needs this replaced also. Are they a standard size or do they differ slightly by brand? When I got the tank, I was told the brand but it was one I had never heard of & have since forgotten.

I don't even know the brand lol.
But it's supposed to be a 54 long.

I know That Pet Place sells perfecto frames. Not sure about a 54 long tho. That may be too out of the ordinary. I was thinking if I couldn't find one that fit mine that perhaps building a canopy would be the answer.

What are the dimensions of the tank? It looks like a standard 55g to me, but it might be longer than it looks on the pictures.

Actually I looked online and it is a standard 55.
It's just the width measurement throws me off.
I'm thinking I'm going to trade it in, no room around here.

You could always replace it, or if you want you could "weld" it back together with some more plastic.

Man you got a nice selection of bevereges...too many diet sodas.

Would welding it be okay? Or would that just continue the weak point cycle until it bursts basically?

Try to match the brand, Perfecto and All-glass are the biggest, but they have slightly different dimensions. Glasscages.com will also sell you parts, I believe. I think replacing the trim would be best in the long run. The one-piece top trim keeps the piece of glass from spreading apart under the pressure of water. If you don't replace the trim, you need to do something to hold the side together or it will eventually leak. I don't know what though - rubber bands, wood collar?
