maybe planaria?
if it's planaria it means you might be overfeeding... cut back the amount of food. someone will give you more advice. EDIT: i also found this page: http://www.aquariumfish.net/informat...trouble_p2.htm |

One old trick that works pretty well is to just put a bunch of pennies in a filterbag and put them in the filter for a few days. That kills all sorts of worms.
Threadlike? Probably not planarians, or hydra. Nematodes are more likely. They're harmless, but I agree that they can be distracting. Are they very tiny, or pretty big? Do they have flat bodies and pointy heads that look like they have little ears? What color are they? Do they have little tentacles on one end? Any high school science teacher would be very glad to get either planarians or Hydra for the classroom. |

Sounds like nematodes.
Exactly what is in your tank, fish and plant-wise? The pennies will be safe for most things, but not all, so it's important to know everything in the tank. Some products like Prazi-pro, Anchors Away, and Had-A-Snail are also pretty good worm killers to varying degree. |
