Question think i made a big mistake (cichlid thread)

ok i saved 4 albino convicts from wallmart they were getting rid of their live fish dept due to mistreatment and lack of care anyways the 4 of them happily lived in my ten gallon as a temporay home for several months (semi preminate now) yeah they are very messy and very teritoral they paired up and the plant in the middle is the boarder of the tank if one crosses the other 2 chase it back anyway what would propper housing be for them (now that i have money)

What are the sexes? Depending on that, 4 convicts should be able to live in a 55 gallon tank.

The fish will tell you. The two that stay together and guard territory are most likely a pair.

I agree-two pair- but they won't be happy in a ten for long. At least get another 10 for the second pair. Then you'll be having lots of convict babies.

One pair of Convict needs a minimum of 20 gal and that's squeezin' it. They really should have at least a 30 - 40 gal tank for one pair.

I keep a pair in a 10g and 5 in a 55g with some other fish. As long as you have sufficient filtration and do adequate water changes two will be ok in a 10g. Mine spawn every week or two.

You say ablino, you mean the pink ones, right? Females are generally smaller and have almost orange in their breasts and flanks. The males are just pink to white.
