Default New 4ft tank Ideas?

I just been given a 4ftx1ftx1ft tank by my ex and his uncle and even though I don't have anything to put it on at the moment (ex is thinking about making me a stand at work, he's a cabinet maker) my head is full of ideas on what I can do with it once I get it all set up. I'm thinking I might make it a barb tank. I love the idea of keeping them as they are beautiful fish but I know they will eat everything in my current 50g tank.

Anyone else got any ideas as to what fishy theme I could make this tank?

Thanks.

You could make it a barb tank or a tetra tank. Barbs are awesome and colorful fish though, I'd go with that

Yeah well my 50g tank is already a tetra tank with 2 Gourami's as a centrepiece. I want something a little different for this new tank. I'm kind of sick of playing it safe with easy fish. I don't expect the barbs to be hard to look after but I know they can become difficult if not stocked properly.

Thanks for the reply bomb-

WOW bala's get way too big for my liking lol. I think I'll stick with Barbs...probably a nice school of 8-10 tiger Barbs to begin with then I may add some Cherry barbs to contrast a little later on.

Odessa or rosy barbs would look good in that size tank.
If you go with tigers I'd plan on eventually about 20 of them, maybe with some loaches.

How about a planted tank with a school of dwarf neon rainbowfish? I have a large tank of about two dozen of them now and seeing them all school together is one of the coolest things I've ever seen!
