Default Cleaning Products? for calcium buildup?

I think it is calcium. The white stuff that forms on all the surfaces of an aquarium that aren't submerged in water, it comes off pretty easy if you keep up with it. But is there a good solvent or cleaner that will get rid of this stuff. I bought a 10 g used for cheap but it has this white stuff EVERYWHERE on all the plastic. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Python Rydyt is supposedly good at removing calcium buildup.

It's probably salt.. You can try a little bit of bleach with water. Just make sure to rinse and sun dry well.

In a fresh water tank, it most likely calcium carbonate or calcium chloride. You need an acid to remove it. Vinegar and lime-a-way work. Wash it in the sink and rinse well.

I use a combo of vinegar and a razor blade,, I soak it with the vinegar for a bit, then use the razor blade carefully to scrape it off, remember to always use a sharp blade a dull one will scratch the glass

I will try Vinegar when I get home tonight, I used a razor blade on the glass, so that part is fine and clean. The plastic is what is so bad. I am excited about the light fixture because it is a 50 watt light compared to the 19 watt that I have now, so the plants should grow a lot better. But if I can't get it clean then I won't use it. I am not even sure how it got so bad.

Thanks for all the ideas.
Kirk
