I didnt think i could post this any where else. I wanted to know, what are the benifets of AS? And the diff. Between marine salt? I have 2 red claw crabs and 3 ghost shrimp and iam going to make my tank brackish in a couple of days but under the ghost shrimp tank(lfs) theres a tab with info. And it says "reaquires AQUARIUM salt" not marine. But i do understand that they are native to BW. My point is, i cant use AS for a brackish env. Can i? Thanx for all of yall's help...

You want to use marine salt, not aquarium salt.... For a freshwater aquarium aquarium salt is fine, for brackish use marine salt.

Well the biggest advantage is your critters will live...............
Marine salt has additives in it that your critters require to live (way too many to many to list but we'll start with calcium, strontium, magnesium, etc...) Aquarium salt is basically just NaCl without iodine that we add for table salt.

for my 33 gallon FW I put 1 teaspoon of FW aquarium salt in every time I do W/C. Helps prevent diseases, and that small amount doesn't bother my plants....I know that's of no relevance but anyhow I'm bored so I'm posting :P
