Default Heavily planted 33g stocking question

I have 10 cardinals, 8 rasboras, 4 german rams, 3 ottos, 3 petricolas (they are getting moved to my 80g when they get bigger) and 1 red tiger discus.

I have 2 super melon discus in my 80g right now but the 33g with the co2 has a better ph and the discus would really like the plants.
I do weekly 50% water changes because of the fert schedule. Do you think i could fit those super melons in the 33g?

I know that Discus like groups but I really feel that the 33g is a tad small for 3 Discus. How big are they now? Also, what are the dimensions of the tank?

If its a 33g long tank (4ft long), then the height of it is kind of pushing it for a fish that gets the size of a man's hand full grown IMO. It might be do-able if the tank is the taller version.

I think your stocking now is fine and if the the tank were bigger, you'd definitely have room for 2 more, but for a 33g, it would be pushing it.

the tank is 3ft long and 18 inch high and 12 foot deep.
The discus are about 3 inches right now.

What if i were to move the rasboras to my 20g tank and then move the 2 discus in?

i take it u meant 12 inches, not 12 foot. 3 discus cannot go in a 33g, no matter what, they get big, too big for a 33g. If u wanted 3-4 discus, u better get a 90g, or if u cant, a 75 is bare minimum, but make it a taller one, thats if u want discus.

No, tigerbarb, 75 would not be bare minimum for a few discus. 55 would work perfectly fine, and a pair could go in a 33 pretty well. Three discus might be pushing it, though. The thing about discus is that thewy move slowly, gracefully, and dont need too much swimming room. The parralel of that would be a yellow tank, which only get to about 6", but need a 75 gallon minimum because they swim so much.

well my red tiger didnt do so good in the 33g. It looks like his swim bladder is ****************ed up. He sinks instead of swimming.
I had to move him back to the 80g. I hope he makes it but im not sure if he will. Guess I'll just have to buy new lights and plant the 80g
