Okay, I have a 29 gallon tank that had been up and running great for well over a year now. I recently moved the fish that were in it to a 55 gallon tank. I have been waiting to restock my 29 gallon tank until I figure out exactly what to put in it. I've been thinking an Angel so 2 days ago I got some peat granuals (fluval brand) to drop my PH. I put them in a media bag and put it in my filter.
Well tonight I went in to check my water to see if the PH had gone down any and I noticed these tiny (really tiny) white things floating all over my tank. When I got a closer look I can see they are some type of bug or something. They are swimming and crawling on the sides of the glass. What could this be? How do I get rid of it? And do you think it came from the peat? |

I dont know if it makes any differance, but all of my water numbers are still good. PH is still at 8.0, ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates are still at 0.

Most likely freshwater copepods. Harmless.
