Default What is this stuff on the inside glass of the tanks?

I have Seachem Flourite Plant Substrate in my 55 gallon aquarium and a lot of rock furnishings. I also have a Penguin 303 and a 175 filter and just a regualar small powerhead for an undergravel filter with an airhouse attached. I keep cichlids in the tank and the PH is about 7.4 which I am in the process of raising to 8.2 after I slowly add the salt. here is a picture of the stuff if you can make it out. yeah I don't have a macro lense, but it is the white looking stuff that flows with the movement of the water and it is all over the class

it is white and it looks like a very small sea anemone but this is a freshwater aquarium. It is attached with a very small leg (like a wasps nest) and it moves with the current of the water.

If they look like tiny sea anenomes(about 1/8") They are probably Hydra. You can treat them with Fenbendazole. From everything that I've read, Fenbendazole is the only thing that will kill them. Apparently all the other treatments just cause them to encapsulate and they return when the water conditions are safe.

After starting treatment with fenbendazole I met a local Cichlid breeder. According to him an outbreak of Hydra will eventually die off on its own. Because, there isn't enough food for them to survive in an aquarium. This is assuming that you don't have any fry.

When I first noticed them there were only 5-6. Within a week they had covered every surface in my aquarium. They were so densely populated it actually made the water look cloudy.

that could be it, it is just so small and I think it is starting to go away. It is about 2 mm in size.
