does your filter or air pump have an adjustment for the flow? if not, you can remove the airstone, if you are really concerned.

just an idea, i was worried cause i got a pump that was for a 20 to 60-gallon tank. and when i put it in my 29 gallon, WOW, like a rocket taking off. well the pump itself didn't have an adjustment, my husband went and got a $2.00 splitter intended to split for multiple ornaments, and it has adjustments to turn down the flow. my fish are much happier, and i turned it up slightly over a couple days until i felt it was at a good level. just a thought if your pump doesn't have a control on it.

I've noticed guppies like to play in the current. What I did to fix my current was move the airstone and the filter to one end so one end is calmer and one there is more current. Then the fish can choose.
