Default Stocking for 10 gallon

I all ready have 6 cherry barbs in a 10 gallon tank. 3 male and 3 female. I don't have plants yet but I"m going to get a few when I go get some more fish.

I want to get 6 neon tetras to add to the tank. Will the cherry barbs pick on them?

6 cherry barbs is enough of a school for the limited space in a 10g. I would recommend getting a single betta or dwarf gourami

Ok thanks. I might swap half of the cherrys then and go with 1 male and 2 females and then get a few neons. If I did that, would the barbs harass the neons?

Or if I decide to swap all the barbs, how many neons could I put in the tank?

Eight to ten, tops.

Even though they are a small fish, fast moving schools like neons are much better off in a big tank.

What about a small school of white clouds instead?
