Well here goes. Let's see if the pics work this time.
My 55 gallon is coming along great. Not adding anything new for a while. I want to get the mollies and the tetras their own tank too, possibly 30 gallon (26). The fry will keep the 10 gallon for now. How long do you think it will take before my common pleco outgrows my 55 gallon? I honestly adore his personality, I just wish I had known when the LFS sold him to me for my 10 gallon. *sigh* ![]() Left side: ![]() Right side: ![]() My common pleco named Camo: ![]() Hmmm, after previewing the post - any ideas why flickr pics don't come in? I used the "Insert Image" button and the codes are there. Weird.

Also, any reason why the fish are eating the plants, to the point that they are coming up? I figured they would nibble on them, but not devour entire leaves at the bottom. I know they are getting enough food.

The pleco should be about a foot or larger by 6-8 months, I would just trade him in now while he is still small. The larger they are, the harder they are to trade in depending on LFS.
Check your butterfly pleco to make sure its not a sailfin, sometimes they are mislabeled.

I really wish I didn't have to give him up, but 55 is the biggest I am going for now.

Ya my idea is to buy some flat rock (or find it and clean it good) and lay them down on a piece of drift wood I have and cover it with sand. Cause It will make a great cave for my cherry barbs. Then just trying to find a good place for my angles I am getting.

Well at my LFS they sell it. But it all depends. In Tn we are full with flat rock. I prob could go out back dig a whole. 1 to 2 feet and find a bunch.

I have to boil it even if I get it from my LFS? Also if I silicone it together would that be sturdy?

Silicone loses its "sticking" power after awhile and its much easier IMO to pick up a couple rocks to clean around them. Plus, if you have big rocks siliconed together, its not that strong, so chances are when you go to pull it out of the water, its going to come apart.
I have a thing about boiling rocks.....it just seems kind of dangerous to me. I suggest pouring boiling water over rocks or scrubbing them under hot water and then soaking them in dechlored water for awhile.

okay, but just to be on the safe side can I silicone it? Is there something that won't lose its sticking power that I could use?

Nice tank. I love natural looking tanks. The rocks are very cool and driftwood is always a great choice. I'm not sure why the fish are eating the plants at that rate. My fish will eat the dying leaves some times but usually leave the healthy plants alone.
