I've heard that silk plants are better for fry because they're not as rigid (and pose a threat of cutting the youngin's tender skin) as plastic ones.
I'm rather picky, and I'd like to have colors that go with my theme of dark blues... but the only silk plants I can find, are the natural greens - some have red in them. I do have a small (as in, only about half a dozen leaves) Java Fern, because I figured it would be good for my pleco...which I eventually gave away because he was outgrowing the tank. But green isn't really my favorite color - and I may have to take it out anyway, as it's wilting (my fault, for not putting co2 or ferts, or anything in the tank for it). Anybody know where I can get silk plants in blues, grays or black? Or somehow safely dye regular ones I buy.
