Default please indentify these

hi i inherited these with my tank, my father in law got them about 3 and a half years ago, could you please tell me what they are

I believe it is some kind of barb. I would suspect either a rosy barb (though they seem too gold) or a gold barb, but I can't make out enough of the markings to see for sure.

I am guessing here, so beware of that

thank you, thats them, they are gold barbs, great fish we didn't think they would live as long as they have as they have gone through a whole removel of the tank, they definatly are peaceful fish but huge eaters, once one put a whole pea in his mouth, i could see it in his mouth for about half an hour haha,
thank you for that, i haven't seen them in any pet shops at all

Yep, definitely Gold's. That's what I currently have in my tank. They are great and very peaceful. Also pretty common from what I've seen they've been in almost every store I've seen.
