Default Aspidoras pauciradiatus...

So it turns out that my "pygmy cories" are in fact "false corydoras" or "sixray corydoras" AKA Aspidoras pauciradiatus. They're adorable!

From what I can tell, they're very hardy. They'd been in a bag for quite a long time, and I have yet to lose one. I bought 12 and they're currently in my 5.5gal quarantine. They were in hard, high-pH water, and they transitioned to my moderately-soft, low pH water with no losses. They're very active, constantly swimming up and down the tank walls.

Has anyone else had any experience in keeping them?

Yes - I have had these fish. They are really easy to keep and they are very active schoolers. I think that you will like them!

Aw, great! I'm so excited to put them in the main tank, I'm just waiting to make sure they're all healthy.

Update:

I moved them into my main tank because I am impatient. They're such weird fish! They swim around and then just stop swimming and get boffed around by current. A couple of times they landed upside down and stayed like that! I got worried and poked them gently, but they perked up and swam around some more. I don't think there's anything wrong with them, probably the transition to such a bright aquarium weirded them out a little.

Haha...they sound cute! Yeah, probably just adjusting to the tank change. Cories (and their relatives) are silly fish.

I just got a sweet deal on a Nikon Coolpix 7900 camera, Kristin, so I'll be posting pics soon for sure! You can witness their cuteness
