How long to qt?

I bought 12 aspidoras pauciradiatus on thursday. They've been in QT since, as I bought them "off the truck," so to speak. I've been duly eyeing them, and not one has shown any sign of unhealthiness. They all look very lively and well.

Can I put them into my main tank yet? I don't really know what I'm waiting for...

Honestly, I never QT. I buy from very reputable stores who buy from reputable breeders / wholesalers. I've been told to do it for at least a week.

A week or so would be sufficient. I don't QT all my fish.....but really I don't buy from stores.

I think a week would be fine. You are just looking for any signs of disease or parasites.

I generally don't QT as well, but these fish hadn't been given the chance to acclimate to a tank before they were on the way to my house. So any weaker, diseased fish that would have probably died in the store did not have the chance to do so. However, I haven't seen any signs of ill health from them...so I might give 'em a day or 2 more, and then pop them into the main tank.

It's all a matter of risk management.
If you think the fish came from a clean source, and if you aren't worried about your established tank getting infested, then you don't need quarantine.
