What do you guys think about the book titled "The Ecology of the Planted Aquarium"
and should I try "EL NATURAL" in a 55g tank??? |

I haven't read that one. The only reason not to go natural is to have more fish in a given amount of water than would naturally occur. Think about how many fish are in a 55 gallon section of a natural pond or lake and it could well be less than one.
But if you do try it, keep us posted with details and pics. I, for one, would much rather learn about your experience than try it myself. |

you can try it and see how it works.would be better if you used lots of ferts and co2 injectiononly way to have perfect plants

It's an awesome book chock full of really great information that you want and need even if you don't want a natural tank, and I very highly recommend it.
I do not, however, recommend a natural 55 gallon tank unless you wanna spend the bucks for the lighting you'd need for such a deep tank. You can do it, but it won't work as well without brighter lights. |

i am glad to see that somebody is willing to invest in and read a book about a part of this great hobby.i have that book and it is worth every penny i paid for it.and then some.good luck;you are going to learn many things from it.
