the second link might be a young bowfin. The spot near the tail is what gives it away.

In the first link, first fish is an electric blue johanii. African cichlid. Second link is a livingstonii, another african cichlid. 3rd is a red devil.

All mean fish, all grow large, all not suited for a community aquarium.

since forever?

Don't buy fish from walmart...they don't know what they are doing.

What size tank are the africans in? They shoul dbe in at LEAST a 55. The reddevil is gonna need a 75.

The africans are gonna kill the rest of you fish, and eventually, eachother.

I sure hope that isn't a snakehead. It sure does look like one. Do you know where it came from?

My local Wal-Marts have a nice selection of well cared-for fish and they are reasonably priced.

It's a bowfin/dogfish. See the spot on the tail? That's a dogfish.

It is indeed a Bowfin, Amia calva.
It is NOT a snakehead. Please go back and tell the folks in that forum that it isn't a snakehead, but a Bowfin.

You got a Bowfin at Walmart? Amazing. It MUST have come in as a contaminant hitchhiker; I can't see them being able to GET them on purpose, let alone sell them on purpose. There is no trade or market for them, or much use, for that matter. We NANFA type people like them, but hardly anyone else does.

What an awful waste of a tank tank that one is, there is probably like, 20 gallons of water in it. And that filter is teeny.

^^Agreed. Not sure on the exact size of the tank. It looks like a reptile setup to me.
