why does the 2 inch danio chase the female swordtal???

because it is just playing..many fish do it..some for food..some for territory...some for mating..and some for play..

He was giving an example of why fish chase each other. I don't think your danios are trying to mate with your swordtail

Just keep an eye on them and make sure the danio isn't nipping the swordtails fins. He's most likely just chasing her out of what he conciders his territory.
