Help My Nan Decide Wether To Have The Clown Loach Or Not...

Right...Hello. As ive mentioned in other threads my gran has a 150g with not many fish in at all, it includes a shoal of 4 clown loaches all around about 4". Today, I went to my LFS with her and there was a large clown loach at about 7 inches or just under, he is £30 which is about $55. She really wants him to go with her shoal of clowns seeing as he was on his own in the tank but she's worried that he is too big. Her questions are...

Do you think she should have him?
Would he be very old seeing as he is that big?
What are you opinions?

Sorry nathan, I know very little about clown loaches. If you are patient, I'm sure someone more experienced with them can give you some input.

I don't see why not. Larger clowns are also hardier than their younger counterparts

Clown Loaches can live for a long time and they grow over a foot so it isnt completely grown yet.

Thats good to hear because she was worried that she would get it home and it wouldnt live long after...she'd probably have him anyway even if he was old, he's lovely!

Right, We picked up the clown loach today and we cant believe how big it is...i measured it while it was still, 8 inches exactly!
I managed to get a few shots of him, he is quite pale but i dont think it is anything to worry about seeing as we've only had him for a few hours, so he's probably still stressed.
