Red face Need (want) some color!

As you can see I have some very active fish, but they are all white/tan/black/silver and such. I do have one small red/honey gourami but I may have to move it, its pair died I think due to stress from the other tank mates. Small fish against large vary active fish. So, if I can possibly get a couple of colorful fish I'd like to. I don't think I am over stocked or close to it, am I? I have had all the current fish for a while. The tank has been set up for 4 or 5 years, so it is well established. I will add a few more plants and hiding places if need to. I know small fish won't work here and all the compatible fish I have been looking up that are medium size are around the same color scheme as I have. What do you think?

And yes, the whole bala shark being to big for my tank has been addressed in the Introduction thread. Thanks for your concern. Sorry for those who wanted to see pictures, I embarrassingly still have a dial-up modem and are having trouble uploading a pic. I keep getting an error and the upload stops.

You should be able to put in a school of Harlequin rasboras. They're rather small but not small enough for your angels to snack on them.

You need to downgrade (resample) the picture to a smalerl size to make it upload. Look for a "save for web" option your favorite editing software.

I'll have to think about the Harlequin rasboras. You don't think they will be too stressed by all the big fish moving around....I would hate for them to be huddled in the corner. I was looking at Rams but, I don't know much about them, they might be too territorial.

I may just have to get a new aquarium just for smaller colorful fish. Thanks for your input.

Rams are territorial, but their territory is pretty small, like 10 gallon tank size. Do the sharks and algae eaters use the tank bottom?

I put 5 Blue Rams in my 100 gallon and only one has survived. I am not sure hat happened but I believe it was aggressive behavior.

Pleco and the algae eater use the bottom. The Angels have a territory near the bottom of a plant but are mostly all over. The Sharks and Danios are mostly middle. The Sharks are rarely at the bottom.

IMO, a sizeable (15ish) school of small fish would look great. It's up to you, though!

Yeah I think I'll try it. But, I'll set up a back up tank first in case I have to move them. If they do well, then I'll have a tank to play with a new community.

Thanks all for you input.
