tank fully cycled itself on saturday( ph 7 ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 10)
did a water change to dilute the nitrate. added 7 neon tetras and a pleco yesterday. The lfs were not exactly efficient when it came to netting the fish and actually dropped a fish on the floor in the process(we were not exactly impressed and have managed to find a new lfs now) We let the bag acclimatize and gently added our tank water. After about 1 hour one of the tetras was dead, this morning another was dead Checked the water again ( ph7 ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 5) Temp is 78. the others are behaving normally any ideas why they died ? Stress maybe ? |

I would place the blame on stress. One of the dead ones could have been the one that fell on the floor. It looks like you acclimated them pretty well and your tank parameters look fine. If anymore die, there could be another reason, but I'm thinking its stress.
