Default Sick Ballon Molly

It looks like she has either Columnaris or Fungus disease. I dont know what's the difference between these 2 diseases. She has greyish/whitish fuzzy patches on her body and her skin looks very DRY.

I moved her to a 1.6 gallon tank cos it was the only one available. My QT is holding 2 goldfish right now. I've added 3 teaspoons of aquarium salt.

I bought a medication called Super Sulfa by Aquatronics. It says to use one capsule to each 10 NET gallons of water.

Questions:

1) What's NET in this case?
2) How do I measure this med in a 1.6 gallon tank??
3) Do you think it's really columnaris or fungus disease? Or can it be something else?

Hello chrisinha

1, Net would mean total water content not including gravel, decoration etc. so if the tank is empty it would mean toatl water volume

2, good question ... i would make up the mixture but using ratio, so if you have a clean 5 gallon container i would fill with aquarium safe water add all the capsule, do a 50% water change on your 1.6 gallon tank then top up with the treated water. as the treated water was double dosed it would mean the concentration in the tank should be correct. you could adjust this to fit what ever size container you have.

3, Ifthe fungus looks like threads it could be saprolegina, the commen fish fungus.

Hope this helps

Thanks for replying!

I dont have a spare 5 gallon though... I guess I have to find another way to calculate this.

What is really worrying me is that she seems not to have any slime coat at all.
