Default changing landscape of fish's envirorments

i was wondering if it would do anything to the health of the fish if i keep changing there landscape. for example, i have 3 tanks each with different gravel, plants, rocks, caves, etc.. i would do half a water change and check the chemistry of the tank and all that other stuff to make sure there happy. sounds like a lot of work. anyways, i know it'll give them new territory control but might some fish be happier with certain plants and landscape than others? you guys think its a good idea? i might just get 3 tanks of guppys and try it and observe there behaviors in the summer unless one of you guys done it before and would like to share what happened. that would be great. hopefully i learn something from this .

Frequent landscape changing may stress them out, but hey, what do I know?

yea i was thinking about that also. but if no one ever done it before, ill try it out . just want to see there behaviors in each landscape on how they'll use the plants and caves. some landscapes wont have certain things other landscapes have.
have more questions. will more than usually oxygen affect there behavior?

ive read that goldfish enjoy and need? landscape changes to keep them active and happy. Ive read a couple different people claiming this and maybe it carries over to other fish as well.

if you remember the link or describe how they enjoy it by there behaviors if you remember than that'll be great. than i can expect something out of my guppys if they enjoy it also. im thinking every 2 weeks ill change them to another tank. hopefully thats long enough for them to enjoy each landscape.

It depends on how often your talking about changing it, like ever 6 months or so would be fine, but not ever couple weeks or ever month, The fish need time to claim their stakes, and be in the same set up for some time so they are not always in destess over it.
I change my tank around, I just did a complete overhaul of the decorations in it, but it has not really been changed allot sence dec. ,more like added to it as it went. It;s been pretty will the same sence feb. and I wanted to try some diff stuff with it......
With fish that get pretty picky about the area they want, it;s good to move stuff around on them now and then to help keep them from being so territorial and picking on other fishes, or so I have read.

yea i read that also. how if your going to add a new fish to your tank you change the landscape so the old fish wouldnt know where there territory is. it gives the new fish a chance to claim something instead of dumping him in a tank which causes trouble cause most of the territory is taken. i put it in confusing ways sometimes. i dont think i have time every 6 months... not even 2 months... trying to accomplish this over the next 5 months. school is hell since it takes 12 hours of your time (including homework) + 8 hours of sleeping leaving 4 hours to do the rest of your chores, hygene, eating, and maybe some friend time.
im also thinking about not doing it depending on how many people post on my idea . one says they MIGHT like it (still waiting for update). and one that may like it or not.

I'm stil trying to pick the best plants for my tank (ones that grow well, but not so well that I've got to be trimming them constanly). So every now and then I take out the ones I don't like and add new ones. Most of my fish have no problem with this, but I have one hillstream loach who hides for a while after I do this (for a few days). He's a very shy fish anyway. If he's eating in plain sight, he'll dart under cover when he sees me coming to the tank.

Infrequently, you'll break the fish if you move stuff around too much too often.

i guess i wont do it. dont want my fish to be unhappy. i got the idea from other animals on how when they get new things there happier. like when they get toys to chew on and such. also compared with humans and how we all want lots of things but cant get it due to price . will it was fun to think about it.

I have changed my tank around a couple of times to sort out territories, I experimented a few changes in a week. Didnt really bother my fish. Now they all seem happy with their setup.
