Default Well...tank not doing so good...

Seems I should have taken some advice and either euthanized my sick red minor tetra or separated it, but as it turns out, I did neither. I medicated the entire tank, which seemed to work for a while, until I realized that the infectious one was beginning to get sick, again. Now what i did was I bought Melafix and began treating with that, since I assumed the infection is still cotton mouth. Apparently, the only thing the melafix did was prevent my Tigers and 1 of the tetras from coming down with the infection again. So 3 sick tetras...3healthy tigers and 1 healthy tetra. So I took out the tetras and stuck them in a critter keeper, and I am treating with melafix. I think it's too late for the chronically infected one...seems it will die soon, but what about the other two? I think they may still have a chance? what do you recommend? I am so confused about all this....

Is there a filter in the critter keeper? heater? if not, the critter keeper is a death sentence.

okay, update and reply. the chronically infected one did not make it, as I assumed. He was not looking well. however the other two are still alive and somewhat eating, but not much. the critter keeper is heated, but there is no filter. I have been cleaning it out regularly ( I take the net and scoop out stuff and uneaten food, and I also do a 25% water change when needed. now, I figure I will go out and buy EM tablets, since melafix doesn't seem to be doing much for them...what do you guys suggest?

well, they are still alive, although they didn't look to be doing very well yesterday when I didn't add melafix in their water. I think that I will go out and buy those EM tablets just in case, although it is like 5 dollars for only 8 pills which are for 2 dosages. for a college student, thats a lot. melafix was 5 bucks as well. hope the little ones make it
