Shy Clown Loaches
I got 3 clown loaches yesterday and they seem to hide behind/underneath the rocks whenever I'm in the room (they come out to play when the room is empty)
Is this normal? do they just not like me? and will the get a bit braver as they get used to their new home?

It's okay... they go out at night... but if you have a bigger school or there's been a time of keeping them, they'll go out and play even at day time

and will the get a bit braver as they get used to their new home?
|
so this is true
Luck...

Re: Shy Clown Loaches
They're alot more active now, but they seem to wait till I put some food in, and then chase the other fish around the tank without even looking at the food!

Re: Shy Clown Loaches
all sorts, a bit of flake, some live bloodworm and daphnia.
They like the worms best I think, but not as much as they like chasing the tetras and guppies

Re: Shy Clown Loaches
I have four loaches, they used to be super super timid, hiding, laying together in a little pile for what seemed like forever. But eventualy they became super playful and swim around all over the place. I disagree that they come out at night, mine sleep as soon as I turn the lights off.
as for food, I feed mine frozen bloodworms, and the LOOOOOVE 'em. Occasionally I'll feed them some sinking shrimp pellets to, but they don't eat those nearly as much.
hope that helped out a bit

Re: Shy Clown Loaches
I have three and I never see any more than one tail and one set of eyes poking out from a burrow they dug under a rock. I think they are kind of like people- they all have different personalities.
