Default tank question

i have a tank with a filter and im wondering how ofter i sould clean my tank? and special stragagies on cleaning it?

Specifics? what size tank, filter brand name, number of fish and types for starters would be most helpful.

The fish look like platies to me.

and the tank is small???

vacuum your gravel every week or 2 and change about 30% of the water. soak a sponge or something to wipe alergae from the tank walls. some ppl perfer magnics.

looks like 2.5 gallon in the pic...

I started off with a 2.5

and with what rice said,,, they make an algae scrubber thing... works good with getting water lines off too...

the one with the black on it looks like a Sunset Wag Platy,, I had a bunch of those,, now dead ...

The other look like a red platy...

so in my 2.5 thank (im pretty sure thats the size) for the future im moving to Calgary in the summer and once i arrive im getting more fish because i really like having fish, is 2 platies the most i should hav in my tank? or can i have more? if i have platies is ther a cind of snail i could have in there?

2 Platys and a snail is all I would keep in there and make sure you do proper water changes..... And thats still pushing it
