Default Weight!!!

ok...I have just calculated about how much my tank will be after filling it with water, ect.

First of all after looking at the dimensions of my tank that I thought was a 130g tank now turns out to be a 140g tank...soo all said and done it will be about 2000lbs...Heigh estimate...spanning over 6 feet. Now I live on the second floor of an apartment, does anyone see a problem with this amount of weight?

Depends on your building. ****When it was built, how it was built. ****Contacting the landlord would be your best bet as they should be able to find out the load for the building per floor. ****Also keeping the tank on the weight bearing beams will help.

The greatest support is against exterior walls. However, 2000 lbs is about 11 people at an average weight of 180 lbs (or 12 at about 166 lbs). Get 10 or 11 large friends to come stand where you want to put the tank. If they don't go through the floor, you can put the tank there :P

if its concrete floor, you should be fine, with wood you need to find studs and put the tank length wise perpendicular to these studs
