G'day. I just bought a 6x2x2 to move my oscars and friends into, so now my 4x15x18 is empty. I was wondering what would be a good combination of fish for it? I was going to get a small jag, but i dont really want somethign thats going to outgrow the tank. I was thinking of going africans, with form fronnies, electric blues and electric yellows. What do y'all think?

I always think that there are lots of problems with keeping Central Americans and oscars in a 4' tank, congrats on your 6'! I think you can't go wrong with a mixed malawi tank that size with appropiate hidding places and a reasonable stock.

If you have a big enough tank with enough hiding places, pH of around 7, you can keep virtually any fish together as long as all the fish are around the same size and these two groups of fish are avioded: Serrasalmus Tetradon(figure eights and dwarfs are the exception). I keep a successful community of fish in a 4 foot tank including the following families: Cichlids, tetras, loaches, gouramis, barbs, rainbows, livebearers, killiefish, catfish, puffers. |

Heh, my oscars are only 7" atm, but i thought i may as well upgrade now, rather than later. How many fish would be suitable for the 4', considering how i intend to put a couple of fronnies in there (i hope they dont get 15" long

If by saying fronnies you mean frontosas, then there's no way you can keep then in your 4', you can keep them in 6' tanks though with no problems, . ( I'm not suggesting you put one into your 6'!
What filtration system do you have?
