Default Algae eater

I have this really large algae eater( I don't know if thats what they are really called) It has grown too big for my tank and it is trying to jump out. I want to move it to my outdoor pond where it will have more room. Will it be ok?

That depends on several factors. Where do you live, what else is in the pond, what are the temps where you are at and is it a natural pond or a smaller plastic one?

I live in Georgia. The temp. of the pond is about 76 degrees F right now thats five degrees cooler than the tank hes in. Its clean and has a small waterfall running into it. Its a fake pond not a natural one. there is nothing in it yet but I intend to get a couple of coi. Also this pond is about seven feet in lenth and four feet wide.

He would probably be ok for the spring, summer, and fall months but you would probably need to pull him in during the winter.

How cold does it get in the winter in your area of Georgia? How deep is the pond?

Robyn has a good link on her site that will be helpful on all seasons with a pond.

How bigs the tank and the fish?

If you have a big enough tank with enough hiding places, pH of around 7, you can keep virtually any fish together as long as all the fish are around the same size and these two groups of fish are avioded:
Serrasalmus
Tetradon
(figure eights and dwarfs are the
exception).

I keep a successful community of fish in a 4 foot tank including the following families:
Cichlids, tetras, loaches, gouramis, barbs, rainbows, livebearers, killiefish, catfish, puffers.
