Default questions about a loach

hey, i got a loach a few days ago and the guy at the fish store said it was very similar to the Striata Botia Loach. one problem tho is i dont think he is eating at all cuz ever since i got him he jsut hides in one of the ornaments and never comes out. i was wondering if maybe he is a nocternal fish or sumthing and if i should put food in at night for him or what. thanks.

Loaches are nocturnal and they can take a few weeks to get accustomed to their new surroundings. Its normal but not uncommon. They do eat at night.

yeah, it took my three loaches a while to actually come out of their hiding spots. Now they're practically out all the time, poking around at the gravel and what not.

First off, loaches are very social fish and they will only become comfortable and exibit their normal behavior when kept in groups.

They eat everything and are more camovourous than vegetarian- you can feed worms, brine shrimp, flake etc etc, I have yet to find a food my loaches will not eat.
