Default strange fish disease

I apologize for reposting, but I am leaving for oklahoma later today and I was hoping to get a larger response on this topic...

I have a new 40 gallon tank that came with 5 red minor tetra, 2 leopard cories and a pl*co.

The tetras had nipped fins when they arrived but thats all I really noticed at first.

2 of them have swollen bodies at the base of their tail and top fin. It's also slightly dark or black there. The larger of the two, that top fin seems either clamped or just missing some of it, but it's smaller. That same one also seems to have some other discoloration/fuzz on one of the side fins. I hope I am discribing properly... it's difficult.

I have no idea what this is or if they have been like this forever. They are active, eating and otherwise seem fine.

I raised the temp yesterday from 75 to 79/80ish, incase it's ick. My other tank thrives at this temp all the time.

The parameters are

PH 7.2 Ammonia >.25 PPM Nitrite 0 PPM 40 gallon temp 80ish

thanks for the sites.

before i left for oklahoma and turned the tank from 76 to 80 degrees and kept the lights off except normal sunlight. did a water change and made sure everyone was doing well..,

The red tetras seem to be doing a bit better since i've been back, even though they never truely acted sick other than appearing to have something wrong with them physically.

One of my leopard cories however have devoloped a white patch on it's upper lip. Again, eating and acting normally and the balas and gourami are still perfectly fine.

who knows, I am definally keeping a close watch... I just don't want to medicate for an unknown.
