Default New tank

Although I've loved fish my entire life, I have only ever had small tanks, all under 10g. Now I am going to get a 29g tank, and I realize that I have options. There are so many things that I can do to it, and I was wondering what you all think I should do to it. Also, I am planning to build a custom stand for it. Do any of you have cool stands that you would like to share with the world? Post pictures please.

Well first off what fish is a "must have" in the aquarium? This will dictate what other tank mates are possible.

And tap water specs would also help us to make suggestions.

I would like to have a cory cat, and a dwarf frog for sure. I know that these are very common fish but I have always liked them. I wil have a couple of live bearers. Whart else do you suggest?

a cory cat just won't do!!!! Get six or seven of them! they'll be very happy in a group... and also will give you a lot of room to play with in your 29 gallon tank considering they hang out on the bottom of the tank and won't interfere with many swimmers that you could put in. If you have a near neutral pH then you could do a lot with the tank. Cardinal Tetras are one of my favorite fish, as well as marble hatchets and dwarf gouramis.

well frogs and fish do not mix, because frog po is toxic and can kill fish.

I keep a group of corys in each of my guppy tanks. They make a great combo.
