So...... um.... Don't mix Flame Tetras with tiger barbs.
Lost one Flame tetra in 5 minutes after putting him in the main tank, I managed to recapture him but the tiger barbs did him in good.
I started out with 7 flame tetras in QT ich or heat killed most of the group left me with two I figure they've been in QT long enough and look healthy, decided to put them in main 44 gallon tank with 5 other tiger barbs, one black skirt and 5 otto and 5 cory cats. Well... The tiger barbs haven't been fed in the last two days, so I guess they thought it was food and went after them after I released them. I managed to capture the small one and put him in my betta tank while I tried to catch the other one but the other one got it good.
But now the betta is flaring up at the last remaining one, I need to move him somewhere, guppy tank?

Rule of thumb is to never mix community fish with semi-aggressive fish. Tiger Barbs do just fine in larger schools in a semi-aggressive fish, but they will tear up community fish.
