Default A lot can change overnight!

this morning the fish are acting antsy! we have had a huge high pressure area settle over us with suddenly elevated temperatures- nice for humans. The snow is all melting but by later this week we are supposed to have a sudden drop in temperature and snow again.
Anyway got up today and found one blackskirt tetra with white on the the top of his head. I have not decided if it is fungus or a scrape but he is twitching at times like it hurts him/her.
The platy has a 'split' lip. it is all white as well- same problem/
the angel fish has a tear in its dorsal fin, the rainbows have nips out of the tails. the serpa tetra is tearing around the tank like it has the devil under its tail and is flashing on the plants. Can't see anything else wrong with it other than it is squirrly.
my bet is on the sepa nipping and tearing as I have had nipped tails on occasion since adding it to the tank.
But would it have done so much damage to the other fish?? split lip and white mark on the black skirt as well as the angel tail??
I know they can be nasty but....
it is an only one of its kind as the other 5 died months ago and since they are nasty I don't want to get any more.

serpae tetras are only small bit nicer than jewels..which are only a wee bit nicer than great whites.

Serpaes are mean and it seems like the fewer you have, the meaner they get. The only fish I ever returned to the store were "cycling" serpaes that chewed up my angels.

But the flashing concerns me. Could be the first sign of flukes or ich or even something nasty. I think 'cottonmouth" aka columnaris when I see 'white on lip'.

I'm starting to think the thing to do is a 90% water change and dose with Prazi-pro or quick-cure at any sign of trouble. There seem to be several 'wipe out' diseases going around that are super quick and don't let the fish live long enough to show symptoms.

Sara had her rope eel develop a white cotton like substance on its mouth in a few hours and killed her eel and this is developed after she took delivery of the fish from the store.

well the good thing is that I have not added any new fish to this tank for several months other than my own home bred platies.
Tank has been treated about 3 months ago for flukes "just in case" as well as with prazi "just in case" when I had something nasty in my fry tank.
(paranoia that something got into to suction tube between tanks!)
I treated with jungle anti fungal in that tank last night and everyone looks a bit better today. No one is flashing- the serpa is minding its own business today, the platy lip is looking less white as is the back of the tetra.
I sometimes find fish will flash when they are overfed or otherwise upset about something.
maybe I should put the serpa in with my nasty angel that is in its own tank. it is a miserable so and so- they might be a good match.
Still hoping for a friend to take my angel but that might not be a good idea because his yellow lamps(?) cichlids killed his own angel.

sorry- I mean yellow labs.
I guess he was looking for something bright in his tank. he says the black and orange stripe loaches are holding their own as well as the long finned black skirt tetras and gouramis but the cichlids harrased his angel to the point that it died.
it was a really pretty angel- very fine lacy black fins.
I am having a senior moment tonight- can't think of names of anything!
