Default Big ol snails.. Questions...

Im thinking of getting a big snail in my tank. Do they need special water peramiters like temp or PH ? Or can i just get one and throw him in my tank?

I would assume your getting an apple snail. If it is a cycled tank, just put him in.

Snails like harder water, not incredibly hard, but harder.

This facilitates the hardening of their shells.

Temperature shouldn't be a huge issue unless it is either very cold or very hot. I've had the yellows snails (can't remember their name) live for quite some time around 76 degrees F.

If your getting an apple snail I think you'll be okay just to put him in a cycled tank. My apple snails go in all sorts of my tanks, comunities, betta's, guppies...ect. Just don't put them with Oscars That doesn't end well for the snail.
